* Preparing your Quilt

 1) Cut your quilt backing and batting 8 inches wider and longer than your quilt top.  Please cut off all selvages as they will break needles and make stitching uneven

 2) Please have your quilt top and back pressed and free of as much loose thread as possible.  Check all seams to be sure they are secured – especially outside seams.  Press open all long seams for a smoother finish and make sure all other seams lay flat.

 3) Carefully check your top to be sure it is flat and square.  Quilting can remove some ripples but excessive rippling will cause tucks and folds in the finished quilt.  Check your borders to make sure they lay flat.  “Wavy” borders will result in tucks on the top also.

 4) Check to be sure there are NO PINS in your top or back.  Please don’t baste or tack the top and back together.

 5) Fold your top and back separately and carefully and place on large hangars for delivery to me and I’ll do the rest.

 I use Quilter’s Dream batting exclusively. Please ask me for a free sample to see and feel the difference.  I have Poly, Cotton, Blends and “Dream Angel” flame retardant batting for children.  Let me know your needs and I’ll have it available.

 I also offer thread color choices and a wide assortment of marbles, textures, basics and florals for wide backing for your quilt.  Let me assist you in these areas.
